Programme Overview

Enterprise Architecture (EA) is a core integrator of strategy, business design and operations. EA both enables and accelerates the tech transformation that companies need in order to compete in a digital-first world. Hence the demand for EA leaders is increasing rapidly as the importance of technology in driving business value increases.

McKinsey Technology and Henley Business School have collaborated on EA research over the last 5 years to seek out the key components of EA leadership. These findings, together with their respective consulting and education strengths, are the foundations of this jointly developed and delivered course.

The Leading Enterprise Architecture Programme uniquely combines professional, business and interpersonal skills to address transformation challenges. It demonstrates how to progress from aligned strategic decisions to integrated business capabilities and an agile EA underpinned by influential EA leadership.

You may be an EA professional or someone who recognises the power of EA as a part of your portfolio of skills. By the end of the course the goal is to create your own assessment of the individual and enterprise capabilities needed to succeed in a VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) world. The tutors have decades of executive, consulting, research and education experience operating in this environment. Peer sharing is a key element of this programme hence our aim is that participants both benefit from and contribute to the course.

The goal is that you leave the programme with an enhanced ability to make a significant contribution to the success of your enterprise. The outputs will include your personal development activities and optionally a personalised review with feedback.

Director of Operations Henley Business School Germany

"The EA [enterprise architecture] discipline is the key to mastering today’s complexity in IT and, more importantly, business. Most large companies struggle with the conflict of historically grown complexity in today’s fast changing world. Good EA practice is the key to winning this competition. The Strategy & Enterprise Architecture programme addresses the core point: business and IT viewed and managed in common."
